Stage Presence...

Random & occasional musings on theatre-related topics...

If this were a show, I'd call this post a "reading"...let's see what happens...

I know these things to be true:
  1. I love the theatre.
  2. I love to talk (especially about theatre).
  3. I love words on a page.

Coming a close 4th is that I love to hear that other people went to the theatre and what they thought.  I really want you to go to the theatre.  I don't care what you see.  I really don't; I just want you to go and experience the stories as told by living, breathing human beings in the same room with you (usually :)) and becoming characters you would never meet otherwise.

So put all these things together and it seems as if maybe I would enjoy being a bit more organized and disciplined about my theatre "talking" by having this website and writing this blog.  And, because I really love meeting the actors when I go to the theatre, I sometimes have some good stories to share about happenings at the stage door.  You might enjoy meeting actors at the stage door too...not sure how to do that?  That's another reason for this website:  go here if you're interested.  And come back here whenever you're so inclined.  I'll keep the curtain open for you :).

No one here but us elves....

12/27/2011

There's a reason you don't see elves...they're known for only really popping up for a bit of giggle now and then, and some toy-making in December of course; or to provide wonderfully endearing characters in literature (Dobby anyone?).
Otherwise, they tend to be fine just observing all those giant people milling about up above them.
So, I guess that's what this blog is...observations...mostly about theater, as that's the kind of elf I am...a stage elf.  But theater is part of my life, by choice, so observations about going to the theater are also observations about my life...
